Espace Killy is the former name of the linked Tignes–Val d’Isère ski area in the French Alps. The older name is retained in this listing, while current operator information uses Tignes–Val d’Isère. When checking passes, piste maps and opening reports, search for that current name so that you are looking at the same destination.
On the Tignes side, the Grande Motte sector connects towards Val Claret via the Double M piste. Across the domain, Solaise offers high-altitude green and blue runs as well as the ValKids learning area. The contrast between beginner areas, long descents and high mountain terrain makes the exact sector more informative than a single description of the whole domain.
This page's default forecast elevation is 2,668 m. That is a mountain reference, not the elevation of the accommodation areas or a town-level forecast. Use it when assessing conditions at a comparable height, and select a separate lower point for your arrival, accommodation and journey back.
Before setting off between Tignes and Val d’Isère, check which connecting lifts and pistes are operating and when you need to return. Compare temperature, wind and the forecast intervals covering the crossing, rather than the daily snow figure alone. Snow predicted at the mountain reference height should not be taken to mean the same accumulation at every lower part of the domain.
