Parnassos Ski Area — ski area. Snow Report archive photo. SourceParnassos Ski Center is the largest and one of the most popular ski resorts in Greece. Located on Mount Parnassos in Central Greece, within the regions of Boeotia, Phthiotis and Phocis, it combines spectacular alpine landscapes, extensive Greek fir forests and impressive views towards the Gulf of Corinth and the Euboean Gulf.
The ski resort extends from approximately 1,640 to 2,260 metres above sea level, covering two main skiing areas: Kelaria and Fterolakka. It offers around 34 km of ski terrain, including 21 marked pistes, 7 ski routes, 5 connecting trails and 4 beginner slopes. The varied terrain accommodates skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, while extensive off-piste areas, particularly around Fterolakka, attract freeride enthusiasts.
Parnassos has undergone major modernisation, including the installation of high-speed detachable lifts, modern gondolas and combined chairlift systems. Improvements completed in 2014 and 2015 significantly enhanced access between the skiing areas and increased lift capacity. The resort also offers ski schools, equipment rental services, mountain chalets, restaurants and snow parks.
One of Parnassos' most distinctive attractions is the opportunity to ski while enjoying panoramic views of the Greek coastline. Its proximity to the picturesque mountain town of Arachova and the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site of Delphi makes it an excellent destination for combining winter sports with sightseeing and traditional Greek hospitality.
The resort is approximately 24 km from Arachova, 35 km from Delphi, 70 km from Lamia and 195 km from Athens. The skiing season generally runs from December to April, depending on snowfall and weather conditions.
