Cavalese - base · 935 m

For skiing from Cavalese, Alpe Cermis is the local mountain to look for on the piste map. The resort is part of the Val di Fiemme setting in Trentino, with a lift-served area that includes blue, red and black runs. This page uses the destination name Cavalese; it should not be interpreted as a forecast for every ski area in Val di Fiemme.

Olimpia is the distinctive long descent here. Its linked sections run from the Paion del Cermis area, around 2,250 m, down towards the valley at about 850 m. That change in height is more useful for interpreting the weather than a single resort-wide temperature: the upper run and the final descent can experience quite different conditions.

Our default point is at 935 m, near the lower end of that elevation range. Before planning a day on the higher slopes, also select a forecast point at the elevation you intend to ski. Compare the freezing level and the timing of precipitation at both heights; snow forecast higher up does not automatically imply snow on the lower approach.

The operator also offers night skiing on Olimpia III when scheduled. For an evening visit, check the current opening notice and the evening forecast rather than relying on the daytime summary. Use the official piste map to match the named section to your route and ability.
